“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts.”
MARK TWAIN
Photography is something that has intrigued me since I was a child. My first camera was bright pink and I mostly took photos of my dog. When I look through the stacks of old photos, it is easy to pick out which ones I snapped. The camera created a pink hue on the edges of the photo, especially when the flash was used.
In college I got my first DSLR and my senior year took a photography class that taught me the basics of film photography. Everything since has been self-taught, a passion and hobby that I’ve poured hours into.
A few months after I got my first DSLR, I went to Europe for the first time. I spent a month in Italy through a program offered at my university. We traveled through much of the northern half of Italy studying the art and architecture. I fell in love with traveling during that trip. Experiencing new places and cultures has become something I value the most. Getting to combine my passion for travel with photography is one of my biggest joys.
To me, photography is all about capturing moments and emotions. That is my goal with each photo I snap.
